Description: An unusually bedecked Shiva is seen here with Parvati riding his vahana the Rishabham. Shiva is seen seated on a tiger skin with snakes draped on his torso, but he also unusually wears jewellery and garlands here. He also wears a crown with a crescent on it. In his hands are the damaru (a small hourglass shaped drum) and a deer (the four legs of which symbolise the four Vedas). The lower two hands are in abhaya (protecting) and varada (blessing)mudras. Parvati is green skinned, symbolising fertility. She holds a lotus flower. Rishaba is also decked with beautiful necklaces and a colourful and decorative caparison. The divine trio is waited upon by brahmins with flywhisks and angels showering them with flowers from heaven.
